Joint Comprehensive Plan

The Georgia Department of Community Affairs has certified the Community Assessment and Community Participation Program of the Wayne County Joint Comprehensive Plan as in compliance with the Local Planning Standards and Requirements of the Georgia Planning Act of 1989.

These documents outline the issues/opportunities facing the community regarding its future growth and development. The community is now in process of preparing its Community Agenda, or what to do about the identified issues and opportunities.

The local governments of Wayne County want to involve the entire community in developing this Community Agenda, and have appointed a broad-based Local Plan Coordination Committee to represent a variety of public and private interests. If you feel you could also contribute to the process, please contact your local government. (County: (912) 427-5900; Jesup: (912) 427-1313; Odum: (912) 586-2211; or Screven: (912) 579-2211.

Copies of the Community Assessment and the Community Participation Program are available for public inspection at the Wayne County Board of Commissioners Office, at the Jesup City Hall, Odum City Hall, or Screven City Hall, or online at www.hogarc.org.
